Dean Dyson, singer-songwriter, has played many stages, from London's Barbican to Nashville's Bluebird Cafe.
Born in Hull, his father joined the RAF when Dean was three years-old, and the family spent the next 15 years on the move,as far afield as Singapore, Germany and throughout the UK, wherever his father was posted as an Air Traffic Controller.
While in Singapore the bug bit, his adoration of the emerging Beatles inspiring him to perform at an early age. By the mid -seventies, based in London, he was already moulded in the classic singer/songwriter tradition, heavily influenced by artistes such as James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot and Joni Mitchell. At the same time his naturally soulful voice drew him to Sam Cooke and Motown.
He has recorded four albums,:- Heartcore, I Found You, One Way Up and most recently, The John Leckie Doghouse Acoustic Sessions, all available on iTunes.
Known for his passionate live performances, his strongly melodic and lyrical songs have been covered internationally, and sometimes translated into foreign languages.
Most notably, two of Poland's most iconic artistes, Krzysztof Krawczyk and Maryla Rodowicz have both had commercial success with Dean's songs.
Currently, Dean is based in London, and performs with his long-time guitar partner Chris Newland, and from time to time, he fronts the Pacifico Blues Band.
